My aunt's birthday is this week, and I wanted to make kind of a fancy card for her. I looked through my Pinterest board for fancy fold/interactive cards, and found a magic slider card example. I used the instructions from Kelly Marie Alvarez for Day 3 of Online Card Classes' "Clear & Sheer" class.
After cutting my pieces, I stamped the mouse lighting the candles from "Birthday Party" onto my window card insert piece, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink & my MISTI. Without removing the stamp, I also stamped it on a piece of acetate with StazOn. I used Prismacolor pencils to color the image on the cardstock piece.I stamped "Happy Birthday" with Tuxedo Black onto a strip of blue cardstock, and cut it into a banner. I used a rectangle die to cut the window into the front of my insert piece.
I assembled my card per the instructions. I then discovered I had cut my window in the insert piece a little bit crooked, despite my best efforts to keep it straight! :( So it took me a few tries to get the mint frame cut properly. I ended up drawing cutting lines on the back, and cutting it with a craft knife, using a metal ruler as a guide. Finally, I adhered the frame on top of the window piece.
I die cut a tab, and stamped "Pull" with an arrow on the front. I folded that over the top of my slider piece and glued it in place with liquid glue. Finally, I adhere the whole panel to a pink A2-size piece of cardstock with fun foam between to pop it up. This makes it easier to pull the slider tab. I adhered my greeting banner in place, and this card was done! (See this post to see the card "closed.")

This is so sweet, and your pencil coloring is wonderful with nice grounding. Yes, never too many candles on a cake (especially as we get older - haha!). Hugs! xoxo
